Hiii!! So i know I missed the final couple weeks of summer of color, been pretty busy but I did do the candy apple red and yellow color combo for my last cupcake!

I've also worked on the block from week one of Junelle's Wildflowers course (I know I'm only in week two and the class is getting ready to start week five!). I've done some more sketching but haven't taken pictures of those yet.

The head looks a little funny but overall I'm pleased with it :)

Next project was inspired by Tamara Laporte's Art Heart and Healing.  In it she talks about writing down the negative thoughts you have and then she has you cover it all up with gesso.  I did the opposite.  I left it all there because no matter how much you hide it, the fact is those thoughts still emerge so instead of pretending they aren't there, I say to embrace it! Accept that those are thoughts you have but despite all the bad things you may think, that you are still a beautiful person.  You are still exactly who you are meant to be. :)

This is for all the Ron Swanson fans :) I drew this on my best friend's foot for fun one night, maybe I should be a tattoo artist??

Lastly here is a sewing adventure for myself.  I was trying to follow a pattern for a little zippered bag.  As you can see, the sides are very wonky lol! I was sewing on floor because I don't have a table for it so I would use my elbow to push the pedal as I fed the machine fabric.  And I didn't have a cutting mat or chalk so I did the best I could with measurements and then just cut with scissors on the carpet.  I'm sure some of these factor into my imperfect project but I still think its adorable in its quirky way :)

It may be a little while again before I post more new things, I'll be working the next 7 days straight then off to the beach!! :)

Quick Question: Who all has taken the supplies me class with Jane Davenport? I would love to take it but her classes are quite expensive for me so I want to make sure I'd get my money's worth first.  Christy Tomlinson has taught me quite a bit about various supplies in her 3 hearts workshop, would you say Jane's classes offers extra or covers a lot of the same things?

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!

Week Four SOC!!

This weeks colors are Charcoal Grey & Pale Pink!

I loved playing with these colors! I had so many ideas I wanted to do with it but I still have more cupcakes to paint for my friend's kitchen so I tried to keep the feel of it the same as my other two cupcakes. I can't wait to play with the color combination more though, I feel like there are a lot of possibilities.  I used my phone's camera to take the pictures so its not the best quality photo but you get the idea :)

I painted a paper first to use on the canvas:

Week 3 SOC!

I'm trying to make a post on my phone so we will see how this looks! :) I was extremely busy last week and was unable to get week 2 of summer of color done but I did get another cupcake completed for this weeks color prompt, purple and lime green!
I'm not a huge fan of this one, I just couldn't really figure out how to work those two colors together! I still have a lot to learn.

I am also participating in Junelle Jacobsen's Wild Art Summer : Wildflowers and it is currently in its first week. I have been soaking up her videos and now I'm ready to tackle some of the projects. She does such beautiful art! All I had time for today was some quick sketches of flowers, but it's a start :)

I can't wait to see how I do in her lessons! I'll be back next week :)

Summer of Color Week One!

Wow its amazing how life can really get in the way, I haven't posted in a very long time.  I haven't done much art either.  After dealing with a lot of issues last year I have decided to get back on my art horse and start doing something I love, for myself, again.  What better way to push me to start then to join in on Kristin's Summer of Color! The first week's colors are turquoise and citron so I started out by painting paper using these colors and some stamps.
The citron kind of looks yellow on my computer when I scanned it in but it still looks cool :)
